VHF DSC System (Digital Selective Call) is a part of Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). It uses simplex VHF channel 70 (156,525 MHz) where it receives and transmits phase modulated digital signal. VHF DSC is used for automatic distress and safety calls, as well as for other types of communications.
Plovput's VHF DSC system includes the equipment located on three coast radio stations and on 19 sites.
Coast radio stations are connected with each other, as well as with VHF DSC base radio stations by means of a VPN network based on TCP/IP technology.
